The big story for July is the work team that came to visit us from Skipton Baptist Church in North Yorkshire, England. Six young people (Mike, the leader is still young at heart!) joined us for almost three weeks to work on water projects and children's Bible clubs in the communities of Carabuela and Pichan. We were able to start construction of a reservoir in Carabuela and do some gruelling work on some spring protection structures at 14,000 feet in Pichan, where we camped in wind, rain and snow battling altitude sickness. Amongst all of this we ran holiday Bible clubs with 200 kids in Carabuela and 50 in the smaller community of Pichan. The team earned a well deserved holiday at the end visiting Chimborazo volcano, the jungle and some hot springs. See July photos (right) for more details of what we did! Martin and Ruth have been married for 11 years and have two children. Ben is seven years old and wants to be a fireman when he grows up. Lottie is five and wants to be a princess with a motorbike when she is older! We are from Harrogate in North Yorkshire (England) and are working for a Christian organisation called HCJB Global. We live and work in Ecuador in South America. Martin is a water engineer and project manager involved in Christian community development projects amongst indigenous people groups. Ruth is kept busy by the kids at home and is also assisting with community development on a part time basis and teaching from time to time at the Alliance Academy in Quito. |

The team consists of Christian engineers and health professionals who are committed to bringing physical and spiritual health improvements to those around them, specifically in rural and marginal urban areas of Ecuador.
